Dr Joel Hooper works in the School of Chemistry at Monash University as a Lecturer. He is an expert in transition metal and organocatalysis, as well as catalysis for polymer chemistry.
Research Interests
The Hooper group is focused on organic synthesis and catalysts, and the application of these methods for synthesising bioactive small molecule, polymers and nanomaterials. His research group is currently developing:
- Catalysis for small molecule synthesis using transition metal and organocatalysis
- New methods for the efficient synthesis of advanced polymers, using cutting edge methods in organic chemistry and catalysis
- Carbon nanomaterials and materials science
