Dr Diana Alves

Diana received her double Bachelor degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Science and Technology at Federal University of ABC in Brazil. In 2014, Diana worked as Research Assistant in the Department of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Cellular Medicine (Temple University, I-CTERM Lab, USA). In 2017, she completed her Master degree in Biotechnology at Federal University of ABC in Brazil. Recently, Diana was awarded a Doctoral degree for her thesis on “New concepts of freeze-drying human red blood cells in pre-transfusion medicine“, which was supervised by Professor Gil Garnier and Dr. Rico Tabor.
During her time at Monash University, Diana was part of the Chemical Engineering COVID-19 task force team, where they developed a low-cost, rapid diagnostic test to detect antibodies against the coronavirus.
