Jayalakshmi graduated from Mahatma Gandhi University, India with Bachelors in Chemistry. She completed Masters in Polymer Science from Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET-IPT, Kochi, India) in 2021. Jayalakshmi worked as Project Assistant at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar prior commencing PhD. She started her PhD at Monash University in January, 2023 with A/Prof. Victoria Haritos as main supervisor and Prof. Gil Garnier as co-supervisor. Her research focuses on Sustainable production of Polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) biopolymeric materials.
