BioPRIA Awarded ARC Training Centre in Sustainable Materials and Responsible Technologies for Packaging (SMaRT-Pack)

BioPRIA has been awarded $7 million through the Australian Research Council (ARC) Industrial Transformation Training Centre scheme to establish the ARC Training Centre in Sustainable Materials and Responsible Technologies for Packaging (SMaRT-Pack).

Led by Professor Gil Garnier, SMaRT-Pack brings together researchers and industry partners to advance sustainable packaging technologies, develop clearer standards, and shape environmentally responsible policy frameworks for the packaging sector. This recognition highlights BioPRIA’s leadership in driving innovation toward a circular and sustainable packaging future.

Our collaboration with Monash, Deakin, QUT and seven industry partners- Visy, Varden Process, Papyrus Bio-Innovations, South East Water, Labelmakers, Xefco and Jet Technology- will help define priority challenges, shape research and test solutions.
