From plants to packaging
Dr. Naghmeh Nasiri, Postdoctoral Fellow, BioPRIA
As a postdoctoral researcher at Monash University, Dr. Naghmeh Nasiri is reimagining the future of food packaging through sustainable, cellulose-based bioplastics. By engineering plant-derived materials at the nanoscale, her work creates biodegradable films that combine transparency, strength, and protective barrier properties—offering a real alternative to single-use plastics. Her research bridges material science and environmental responsibility, driving solutions toward a circular, low-carbon future.

Think green, and print smart
Ms. Zinia Anjuman Ara, PhD Research Student, BioPRIA
A PhD researcher at Monash University, Zinia Anjuman Ara is advancing sustainable bioinks for 3D bioprinting using nanocellulose. Her work focuses on replacing synthetic, waste-heavy systems with renewable, biodegradable materials, while developing rheology-based models to predict printability—reducing trial-and-error and material waste. She is helping shape a smarter, greener future for biomaterials and regenerative medicine.
