Dr Swambabu Varanasi is a post-doctoral research fellow at BioPRIA and the Bioprocessing Advanced Manufacuring Initiative (BAMI). His PhD focused on preparation methods of biodegradable and recyclable cellulose nanofibre membranes for ultra-filtration applications. At BAMI, Swambabu is working on two projects: Project 1: Cellulosic fibre non-woven materials for high performance applications and Project 3: Engineering specific barriers with coated paper, both of which are related to the Functional Materials platform of BAMI. Swambabu is also working with new PhD students under the supervision of BioPRIA Director, Prof. Gil Garnier and Deputy Director, Dr Warren Batchelor.
