Maisha completed her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 2021, she was awarded a Doctoral degree by Monash University for her thesis on “Applications of organobismuth-nanocellulose composites as antimicrobial materials“. This research was supervised by A/Prof Warren Batchelor, Prof. Phil Andrews and Melissa Werrett.

Maisha was also part of the Chemical Engineering COVID-19 task force team in 2020, where they developed PPE Medical Gown from laminated paper. She is currently living in Bangladesh.
