Dr Thilina Gunawardhana

Thilina has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical & Process Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and a Masters in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. In 2019, he was awarded a Doctoral degree from Monash University. His thesis was titled “Biorefinery opportunities in a thermomechanical pulping mill“, supervised by A/Prof Warren Batchelor and A/Prof Antonio Patti.
After his PhD completion, Thilina works at OPAL Group where he involves in new product development to reduce the cost of recycled paper production and increase the environmental performance of paperboard.
