Laila completed her Masters and Bachelor from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Laila is currently working on a GRIP (Graduate Research Industry Partnerships) PhD project: Developing superabsorbent to improve red meat quality. Her research focuses on development of superabsorbent to absorb free blood from retail ready meat while working towards biodegradability. She is working under the supervision of Prof Gil Garnier and Dr. Joanne Tanner, with the partnership of Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA).
